The best fashion advice I ever received was from... André Leon Talley. He’s a close family friend, and I learned a lot about personal style from him. He also introduced me to Narciso Rodriguez and Zac Posen, two of my favorite designers.

My favorite trend from the past is... the age of elegance. We’ve become too casual.

This fall I am most looking forward to... The Museum of Fine Arts’ ball and exhibit on Oscar de la Renta. André and I are going to a fitting in New York for a custom Oscar de la Renta gown for the occasion.

The best gift my husband ever gave me was... a pendant he gave me years ago. He also surprised me with a Burberry fanny pack for our anniversary. Our daughter, Claire, helped him.

Heels or flats? Heels. The higher the better. If you can’t walk, just perch.
