By Mimi Faucett Trahan By Mimi Faucett Trahan | April 7, 2020 | Food & Drink Eat Drink

Head to these local Mexican and Tex-Mex staples to get your taco (and margarita) fix this Tuesday—or really any day of the week.

Armandos

The in crowd calls this Mexican restaurant home, usually donning hip threads to match the tacos al carbon, empanadas, enchiladas and top-shelf ’ritas. While social distancing, pick up your usual order curbside, with an accompanying boozy concoction.

Daily, 3-8pm, 2630 Westheimer Road, 713.520.1738, armandosrestaurant.‌com

Arnaldo Richards’ Picos

Executive chef Richards blends contemporary culinary concepts with traditional, authentic Mexican cooking at his Upper Kirby locale. Toast Taco Tuesday with its top-shelf to-go menu which boasts a variety of DIY cocktail packs and the newly added 16-ounce top-shelf marg. For something more substantial, try the Tex-Mex dinner for four: a customizable package with beef picadillo or shredded chicken, choice of 10 crispy taco shells or tortillas, lettuce, tomato and cheese, plus rice, beans and salsa roja. (Pro tip: Breakfast tacos are doled out daily.)
