Dine for a cause with Southern Smoke Spring.

Houstonians love to dine for a cause, and with this month’s debut of Southern Smoke Spring—a new lineup of events organized by Chris Shepherd’s Southern Smoke Foundation—there’ll be plenty of opportunity to do it. The beneficiary? Southern Smoke’s Emergency Relief Fund, which provides aid to food and beverage professionals in crisis.

Pit Master

James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef Aaron Franklin of Austin’s famed Franklin Barbecue joins forces with the Underbelly frontman to prepare the ultimate steak dinner. 6:30pm, tickets $350, including signed copy of Franklin’s newly released cookbook, Franklin Steak, 1100 Westheimer Road

April 15
Pardon my French

Jamie Malone’s Grand Cafe in Minneapolis was just named one of Food & Wine’s best new restaurants of 2018. She joins Shepherd to cook a multicourse meal showcasing her modern interpretation of classic French cuisine. 6:30pm, tickets $200, 1609 Westheimer Road

Got steak?

44 Farms is sponsoring Houston’s first citywide steak night. For two nights only, more than 20 restaurants—among them Hugo’s, Xochi, Brennan’s and Tris in The Woodlands— will create a special dish featuring steak, with proceeds from each dish benefiting the foundation. 5-10pm, locations vary

Shaken or Stirred?

Belly up at UB Preserv where New York City bar star David Arnold will be mixing up his innovative, science-based concoctions for one night only. 9pm-2am, 1609 Westheimer Road

The Grand Finale
