From ready-to-wear to cult-favorite travel goods, three much-anticipated stores debut in Houston.
TRÈS CHIC
European womenswear brand Ba&sh made its big Texas debut this fall in the Galleria. The company, which was founded by best friends Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief, went from cult-status French label to global powerhouse in 2015 when private equity firm L Catterton, a partnership of luxe conglomerate LVMH (whose portfolio includes Equinox), acquired 50% of the brand for an undisclosed amount. Today, Ba&sh is well known for its romantic yet edgy Parisian cool-girl vibe. Think leather bomber jackets and chic suit separates alongside effortless maxis and custom floral prints. “We are so excited for our first venture into Texas,” says Sarah Benady, CEO of Ba&sh North America. “We’ve already seen tremendous engagement from online customers who live in the Houston area over the past couple of years, so we can’t wait to introduce our brand values and Parisian collections to them in real life.”
FINAL DESTINATION
Travel in style this winter thanks to the opening of Away’s new store in Highland Village. The stylish travel brand, which has previously collaborated with Karlie Kloss and Dwyane Wade, is landing here in Houston. “We view our stores as much more than places to just sell products,” says Jen Rubio, co-founder and chief brand officer. “[They’re also each] a hub to bring together a community of people who love to travel as much as we do.” The store will offer personalization options and small accessories in addition to its core line of chic luggage and newer, more luxe aluminum line. Now you just need to plan the vacation.
PARTY TIME
With a provenance in fine lace, embroidery and high-quality silk dating back to 1922, Spanish bridal brand Pronovias just opened its first brick-and-mortar in Texas, adding Houston to its list of posh locations such as Paris, London, Tokyo and more. But inside the 3,000-square-foot outpost in the Galleria’s luxury wing, you’ll find more than just wedding looks. Enter The Party Edit: Pronovias’ line of occasionwear. The collection is made up of eight, trend-led categories (drapes, ruffles, sequins, etc.) offering a wide variety of formal to cocktails looks. Think jumpsuits with bell-bottoms, pencil dresses with puffed sleeves, fiery gowns with generous drapery—a perfect getup for the next black-tie gala on your calendar.
