When brothers Craig and Ken Manuel founded Wood Essence Inc. in 1985, their vision was to provide high quality, custom designed millwork and cabinetry to the people of Houston. Needless to say, they succeeded. With an ardor and love for designing and working with wood finishes, the company helps each customer every step of the way to make sure their vision becomes a reality.
“Our team designs, fabricates, finishes and installs all projects. We are able to create the one stop experience for our clients,” Craig explains. “We also offer incredible products like zoom beds and murphy beds that allow our clients to maximize their living quarters in smaller areas such as residential highrise living.”

Synergy goes beyond the Wood Essence family and extends to whomever the customer requests they collaborate with to ensure the final product is flawless. “We allow our clients to decide who they would like us to work with on their desired project. They can decide to work with just our team, or we can work together with interior designers, architects, contracts etc.,” Craig says. “Either way we will excel at the project.”
Mainly on assignments in River Oaks, Galleria, and the Memorial area, Wood Essence also has pieces in some of the most elegant homes across Texas and the Grand Cayman Islands. “We are proud of all of our projects, big or small. We put our absolute best into every project, and we see all projects as equally important,” Craig says.
