The Menil Collection recently unveiled What Drawing Can Be: Four Responses, peeling the curtain back on one of art’s many complexities.

Running through Aug. 10, the exhibition showcases the work of four contemporary visionaries as they explore this thought-provoking question through site-specific installations. “Rejecting conventional limitations of material, scale and permanence, the four artists in this exhibition make a case for the continuing relevance, agility and vitality of drawing and how it remains a generative area of investigation,” shares the Menil Drawing Institute’s associate curator Kelly Montana. “It’s been a joy to present each installation, though vastly different, in conversation with one another.”
