So thrilled to have you in town! What are you most looking forward to about being in Houston?
Houston is so incredibly diverse, which has made it a center for culture, plus I love that Beyonce and Lizzo are both hometown stars, we’ve loved dressing the both of them in our styles. I’m Canadian and I live in New York City, so I jump at any opportunity to visit other parts of the country to get inspired because we design with all women in mind. It’s always so fulfilling to see how our customers style our pieces and hear first-hand feedback from them that I can take back to the design room.
What have you noticed about the Houston shopper— is the market different or just what you expected?
The Houston shopper loves fashion, but doesn’t follow trends just to be trendy. They love well-made pieces that tell a story, which is why I think we resonate here. Every piece is designed with intention, and every print evokes a mood.
Favorite piece in your latest collection?
The Maya gown features a print that is best described as a beautiful mess. It reminds me of the mix of colors on a palette when I’m painting. I love it so much that I’ve been wearing it since we received our early samples.
I hear that a milestone celebration is coming up in the near future. What has been the most special part of the journey thus far and what are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?
Being able to be creative every single day and build a fashion brand that allows me to support causes and communities that I care about, around art, education, women’s empowerment, and health. My mission is to bring art, color and positivity to the lives of those who need it most, and I’m looking forward to continuing that in a multitude of ways.
