The University of Houston’s Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts (KGMCA) is bringing the house down with the college’s first-ever full-scale musical production, Little Shop of Horrors. Adapted from the 1960s film, this show tells the tale of Seymour’s relationship with a comforting yet wild plant. Songs from this musical like “Suddenly, Seymour” and “Grow for Me” are hard not to sing along to as students from both Moores School of Music and Th e School of Theatre & Dance perform on the college’s stage. Director Nicole Kenley-Miller, alongside inspiring UH alums Afsaneh Aayani, professional puppet developer, and Sally Mayes, Broadway actress and singer, all bring the show to life for four performances. May 27-29, tickets available at uh.edu/kgmca/box-office
