As Fauzia Kabani watched her two brothers develop Exclusive Furniture into a multimillion-dollar business from the ground up, she knew she was witnessing the American dream firsthand. In 2008, at the age of 21, she joined their team, becoming the company’s first female in a leadership position. While Sam and Fawad Zavary still handle the executive decision-making, Fauzia serves as the integral link to their success, coordinating supply chain logistics, overseeing operations, managing inventory and maintaining the customer service experience.
Since its opening in 1998, Exclusive Furniture has continued to expand and now boasts seven locations across Houston, spanning over 335,000 square feet of showroom space, with plans to infiltrate new markets in the near future. The trusted household name is known for its array of quality products offered at affordable prices, as well as its commitment to helping organizations like Rebuilding Together Houston, Lakewood Church and Global Empowerment Mission.
As a working mom, Fauzia strives to give her best in every capacity. With persistence and compassion, she approaches her days in four quarters so that even if her mornings aren’t quite up to par, all is not lost. She takes pride in the fact that over the years, she has been joined by other women in managerial roles, and she remains available to them if they ever need business advice, assistance or a listening ear. “Being a woman in a male-dominated industry is no small feat, but it’s important to give our ecosystem that feminine touch,” she says. “After all, a sense of design and home is in our genetic makeup.”
