I saw an opportunity to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen,” says Holly Thaggard, the founder of cult-followed SPF beauty brand Supergoop! (supergoop.com). The San Antonio-based CEO started the company in 2007 after a close friend of hers was diagnosed with skin cancer at 30. “I learned that the No. 1 reason people don’t wear sunscreen is that it doesn’t feel good on the skin,” she said. “I was inspired to fill the void in the market for an ingredient-conscious, clean, feel-good product.” Now, over a decade in, Supergoop! launches its first sunscreen for babies and toddlers, Sunnyscreen—a product no doubt inspired by Thaggard’s own brood (Emery, 14, and Will, 11).
