Monroe’s path to real estate began with a Master’s in Architecture, where he intended to work in historic preservation and adaptive reuse. However, flipping houses sparked his passion for sales, and it quickly became clear that real estate was his calling. “After selling a few homes, I realized that sales was a natural fit,” says Monroe.
Inspired by the grit and discipline of Olympic athletes and being a swimmer himself, Monroe’s commitment to self-discipline is reflected in his work ethic, an essential trait he attributes to early life lessons from his dad. “My sister and I weren’t allowed to use the word ‘can’t,’” he shares. “Therefore, we had to learn to find a solution to every problem.”
Monroe recently teamed up with Stephen Warrell, another top producer at Sotheby’s, to create The Monroe and Warrell Team, offering clients the strength of two expert perspectives. Guided by a business motto he coined early on—“It’s not about selling one house, it’s about building relationships”—Monroe emphasizes that success in real estate is all about genuine connections.
