You might recognize some familiar faces in Ronda Carman’s second coffee-table book, Entertaining at Home: Inspiration From Celebrated Hosts ($45, Rizzoli), out this month. Of the 30-plus tastemakers Carman visits, 10 are Texans. Featured in the 325-page book are Houston’s most seasoned entertainers, like style icon Lynn Wyatt, blogger Caroline Harper Knapp and interior designer Courtnay Tartt Elias, who invite Carman (who herself was born and raised in Sugar Land and now lives in Memorial) over and divulge hostess hacks, tablescape resources and secret recipes. “It is the way that Texan hosts greet one another, and the world, that makes me smile,” says Carman. “Each host exudes sincere hospitality, a warm smile and a great hug.” On Sept. 26, Carman will be signing copies of her book at local home store Found. A fitting celebration, since shopkeeper Ruth Davis’ panache for dinner parties (and her recipe for duck confit!) has its own chapter in the book.
