When word first got out that the iconic La Colombe d’Or hotel was set to undergo a multimillion-dollar expansion and face-lift, the city was abuzz with excitement. After all, the beautiful Montrose manse owned by the Zimmerman family has served as one of the most luxurious places to hang your hat in all of Houston and beyond for over 40 years—catching the eyes of dignitaries and celebs in spades. Now, after much anticipation, the boutique hotel has opened its modernized doors, and the result is nothing short of spectacular. Offering three unique experiences for the guests, opt to explore the Mansion, the Tower and the Garden Bungalows—this trifecta provides a little something special for all.

Take a spin around the shiny new jewel box of the Mansion—featuring 32 suites in a bevy of styles, over-the-top amenities, sumptuous collections of contemporary and classic art, lush gardens with a variety of outdoor offerings and a resort-style pool.
The piece de resistance tucked inside is Tonight & Tomorrow, a restaurant where decadence comes together on the most mouthwatering of plates. The bar area resembles a setup straight out of Mad Men, complete with retro textiles, bold hues and a certain swagger in the air. Pull up a chair for happy hour with friends, or get cozy and stay a while.
Cocktails like the Rushmore Academy (cold-brew coffee, bourbon, orgeat and orange bitters) offer a cheeky alternative to your everyday sip. Light bites and more substantial options—such as the crab ravigote, steak frites and bucatini—undoubtedly encourage the most decadent of noshing.

Although La Colombe d’Or has certainly transformed into its next chapter, with a fresh face, the hotel continues to embody the same rich history and timeless sophistication it’s most famous for. Through an inviting ambiance and grandiose aesthetic, we promise the perfect amount of nostalgia and newness that will without a doubt take your breath away from the moment you step foot inside. 3410 Montrose Blvd., Houston, lacolombedor.com
