From statement suits to everyday workwear, this Houston haberdasher is setting the standard in men’s custom clothing.
Kimberly Kalil sports some of her own designs.
As the only female master custom clothier in Texas, Kimberly Kalil brings unmatched expertise to men’s fine fashion. The mom of three and former investment broker founded Kalil Clothier in 2016, after working in the clothing industry for 12 years. Born and raised in Houston, Kalil has built a hefty Rolodex, counting many of H-Town’s top executives and athletes as clients: former Houston Astros President of Business Operations Bob McClaren, Texas A&M basketball players and staff, and head honchos at Barclays Investment Bank, Latham & Watkins LLP, Engel & Völkers Houston, ERG and more.
Quickly becoming Houston’s go-to gal for bespoke apparel, Kalil is always in the know when it comes to upcoming trends as well as the latest innovations in design, fitting and tailoring techniques. While an innate sense of style launches Kalil to the forefront of the fashion world, an active membership in the Custom Tailors & Designers Association keeps her up to date on industry standards. Kalil’s business savvy and professional certification also allow her to work exclusively with luxury European fabric suppliers—Belgian textile producer Scabal, French fabric maker Dormeuil and English cloth merchant Holland & Sherry, to name a few.
Kalil conducts consultations and fittings at clients’ homes and offices, guiding clients through the process from start to finish. For gents wanting the whole kit and caboodle, Kalil’s offerings extend to personal styling and image consulting. Let’s just say more than a few men about town can credit Kalil’s discerning eye for their full style transformation. Greener Pastures
Green is the hue of the season. From aqua to chive, Kalil advises clients on specific shades based on their coloring and individual style.
Seeing Double
The double-breasted coat returns, but this time with a slimmer fit and a wide-peak lapel—a welcome refresh since its ’80s heyday.
Pattern Play
From plaids and pinstripes to windowpanes and chalk-stripes, Kalil sees these designs as evergreen trends when it comes to suits.
Perfect Fit
For menswear, the trim fit reigns king. Think slimmer cuts for suits, sport coats, pants and shirts.
Kalil's suits are tailored to each client’s exact measurements, individual taste and wardrobe needs.
