FROM DECORATIVE OBJECTS AND ARTIFACTS TO ANTIQUE CARS, THESE CHIC COLLECTORS ARE POWERED BY PASSION.

THE WHO

With a heavy hand in the Houston community, Dr. Abdualla Kudrath is an emergency medicine physician. Kudrath owns several emergency centers, including Post Oak ER, Supreme Care ER, and Angleton ER, where he provides emergency care to urban and rural communities. Needless to say, this go-getter is constantly on the move. And, thanks to his covetable collection of cars, he’s always doing so in style.

THE PASSION

“Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated with cars and machines. Our ancestors were limited to only moving their bodies as fast as a horse or their legs could take them. Only recently did our human ingenuity create machines to take us much further and faster,” shares Kudrath. “For my entire life, I’ve been fascinated by cars and their additional capabilities, whether moving fast, moving comfortably, protecting us, or simply allowing us to explore.” Kudrath’s collection features swoon-worthy rides, including a 2020 Lamborghini Urus, 2016 Rolls Royce Ghost, 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback, and many, many more.

GREATEST TREASURE. . .

“Every car in my collection is unique, and I enjoy them all, but my favorite car is my 1991 Lamborghini Diablo,” shares Kudrath. “It was the fi rst production car to break 200 mph and was a groundbreaking style that was a work of art. When I was a kid, I had a poster of the Lamborghini Diablo on my wall, so now, when I drive it, I feel like a kid again and still can’t believe I’m driving one!"

GUTTER

Barfield has a buying trip to France in the works where she will shop all sorts of covetable finds to share with her followers.

THE WHO

Antique influencer extraordinaire Lily Barfield found her passion from early on. “I grew up in Louisiana surrounded by antiques and beautiful art that my mom collected,” shares Barfield. “She took us to estate sales and antique malls where we would wander around looking for that one thing that spoke to us. So when it came time to decorate my own home, I quickly realized that there was something really special about collecting pieces slowly over time versus filling my home with mass-produced new items.” Now, Barfield shares her love of antiquing on a professional scale through her storied site, lilysvintagefinds.com

THE COLLECTION

“I collect anything that can be used for entertaining, and my china collection is growing by the day. I have a slight glassware obsession,” enthuses Barfield. “When I stumble upon a set of beautifully etched or engraved crystal, I can’t pass it up despite my cabinets being filled to the brim. One of the standout sets in my collection is a large antique set of Fostoria crystal from the early 1920s. It is etched with peacocks, pheasants and florals. I have over 40 types of glassware and crystal in my collection, though some sets are just a pair and others are over 30 pieces.”

"I HAVE A SLIGHT GLASSWARE OBSESSION. WHEN I STUMBLE UPON A SET OF BEAUTIFULLY ETCHED OR ENGRAVED CRYSTAL, I CAN’T PASS IT UP DESPITE THE FACT THAT MY CABINETS ARE FILLED TO THE BRIM...” –LILY BARFIELD

GREATEST TREASURE. . .

We had the opportunity to acquire the entire remaining collection of crystal from a Seattlebased glassware company called Kusak Cut Glass Works. They crafted handengraved crystal for over a century. I have a whimsical set of coupes by Kusak engraved with little stars. This set will always be special to me after meeting the Kusak family and learning the company’s history. The way they made their crystal just can't be rivaled today.
