We sat down with cutting-edge interior designer and local Houstonian Bilal Rehman to get the inside scoop on his design studio launch, sustainable summer trends and what’s on the horizon for this trailblazing brand.

What inspired you to start your own design studio? Launching Bilal Rehman Studio was a natural decision for me, as I saw a glaring gap in Houston’s interior design scene that I was determined to fill. Having seen the dramatic and experience-driven designs of major cities like Miami and Los Angeles, I knew that Houston was ready for a similar approach. I was passionate about bringing a new perspective to the market—one that wasn’t afraid to take risks and stand out from the crowd. Every detail, from lighting to scent, is carefully considered to evoke the perfect emotional response. My vision was to create a brand that would redefine luxury interior design and push the boundaries of what was possible.
How has the Houston community supported your journey over the years? The love and support of the Houston community has been a driving force behind my success. I am constantly inspired by their enthusiasm for my fresh approach to design and the way my studio stands out from the crowd. Their encouragement pushes me to go further and reach higher, and I am grateful every day for their loyal support.
How would you describe your overall aesthetic? At our studio, we don’t just design spaces—we create experiences that leave a lasting impression. Our signature style is all about drama, drama, drama! We love to incorporate eye-catching pieces that spark conversation and create moments that are nothing short of unforgettable. We want our clients to feel like they’re walking into a work of art… a space that’s as unique and dynamic as they are.

What are some design trends that you’re excited to see this summer? Interior design is constantly evolving, with sustainable and eco-friendly design gaining popularity as people become more aware of the impact of their choices on the environment. Eco-friendly materials like bamboo and recycled materials, as well as natural materials like wood, stone and leather, are being used to create warm, calming and beautiful spaces.
Anything else we can buzz for the summer? I am thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Bilal Rehman Gallery in 2023. It’s going to be an exciting journey where we will offer an exceptional immersive shopping experience with an array of truly unique pieces that cater to any budget. Our goal is to make luxury interior design accessible for everyone. We can’t wait to share our passion for design with you and support local artists in the process.
