From mother to son, Foscari has passed through some seriously skilled hands in the cabinetry industry.

For Joaquin Olaverria, custom cabinetry is a family affair. When his mother, Monica Wehbi, founded Foscari in 2007, she entered the scene with over a decade of architecture experience and a hunger to create something new. Thus was born Foscari, the first showroom in Houston to carry European and modern cabinetry systems for kitchens, bathrooms, and closets. “The cabinetry industry was an extremely specific niche,” says Olaverria. “Few architects and designers were familiar with custom cabinets, but for my mother who practiced architecture in Argentina for almost 15 years, modern design became her second nature.” In 2020, Wehbi passed the torch along to her son who now serves as the CEO of the company. Olaverria leads a team of five designers, including his mother.

At Foscari, passion for design is the centerpiece of all projects. From this sentiment blooms “captivating and amazing manifestations of timeless, beautiful, and perfectly functional interior spaces,” shares Olaverria. Whether your preference be traditional, contemporary, transitional, or even mid-century, Foscari will honor client needs and wants with both feasibility and affordability. Not only does Foscari provide clients with the best value cabinets for their space, but also offers countertops, integrated lighting, paneling systems, wall and floor coverings, fixtures and appliances.

Using their careful expertise, knowledge, and resources, the small but mighty team of designers at Foscari put their heads together to bring client visions to lifeand exceed expectations in doing so. Foscari has raked in numerous awards and accolades to show for their success, including Best of Houzz Awards for two consecutive years (2018 & 2019) and the nomination of ten separate projects for the AIA Home Tours. And while the company can’t provide specific client names, Olaverria hints that they are “huge basketball fans.”

For Olaverria, being surrounded by a wonderful team and getting to do what he loves on a daily basis are the best parts of his job. “We share the same passion for what we do, and it all is translated into an amazing experience for our clients.” And with Olaverria taking the reins in place of his mentor and mother, Foscari is in great hands.
