The Crime Stoppers of Houston’s annual ‘Leading the Way to a Safer Houston’ Gala is back—and dare we say, better than ever. Returning on October 12, the event celebrates its the Crime Stoppers’ mission and continued work for public safety and crime prevention around the city.
"The Crime Stoppers Gala means so much to the organization and the community it supports,” shares Crime Stoppers CEO Rania Mankarious. “Not only is it the one time a year we are able to stop and celebrate the mission, but it’s also the only time our entire network of partners come together to further our unified efforts to thwart criminal activity. Crime Stoppers of Houston proudly stands as the largest Crime Stoppers organization in the country, and we know that is because of the giants upon whose shoulders we stand.”
This year’s gala is presented by C. James and Carole Walter Looke Family Fund, and will welcome guest speaker, UNODC Goodwill Ambassador for Global Fight Against Human Trafficking and actress from Sound of Freedom, Mira Sorvino, to the stage for a moderated conversation about the global and local impact of human trafficking. Mia Gradney of KHOU 11 News will lead the moderated conversation, and Jennifer and Chris “Kip” Hohman are set to chair the event.
“We remain so thankful to our presenting sponsors and this year’s special guest speaker Mira Sorvino and look forward to a critical conversation highlighting trafficking in Houston and in major cities across the US,” adds Mankarious. “We hope all will join us." The event is open to all, and the Crime Stoppers invite everyone to support the event by attending or making a charitable contribution. Tickets—or tables—to the gala can be purchased online HERE.
