Autry Parks sets the scene as an array of vendors (think top-tier restaurants and local merchants) line its central green. “We are so glad to be back in Houston for our third year!” says founder and CEO Iris Midler. “Partnering the chefs with local farmers gives them a chance to showcase both worlds. Besides the food, guests will experience live music, drinks and entertainment. You won’t want to miss it!” Voted on by the guests themselves, finish each flavorful day with the Best Bite winner announcement, selected from the gourmet masterpieces featuring ingredients from local Texas family farms. All proceeds from the charitable celebration will benefit Urban Harvest and Houston Food Bank, and their efforts to improve community garden programming.
Autry Park is lined with culinary booths, live entertainment and more.
The festival opens its doors to VIP ticket holders at 1 p.m. and general admission at 2 p.m. Guests with the VIP experience are privy to an exclusive hour of personalized participation in exclusive dishes while bartenders and sommeliers perfect your edible pairings. Each delicious day flaunts a different theme of chefs, culinary specialties, and surprises. “We’re so excited for this year’s Sunday main event, which will celebrate Houston’s vibrant food culture!” adds Midler. “Street Food Saturday will give Houston’s best chefs a chance to express their creativity in a deliciously fun way for all our guests.” Autry Park; 3711 Autry Pk Dr;chefsforfarmers.com
