An awe-inspiring location, gourmet dining—and, above all, tranquility—have quickly made The Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe one of the country’s most lauded new destinations, and it’s just a straight flight from IAH.
Located in the adjacent Clubhouse, Edgewood Restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows and a front row view of Lake Tahoe.
The south shore of Lake Tahoe is on the rise, and on the forefront of the area’s renaissance is a recently completed $100-plus million resort. From the moment you set foot into The Lodge at Edgewood Tahoe (rooms from $349 per night), the wow moments don’t stop. After a warm greeting complete with glasses of sparkling wine at reception, a glimpse past the lobby reveals a great room with breathtaking 38-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame the postcard view. Oversize, geometric light fixtures punctuate the dramatic space, but they don’t distract from the charming fire pits, heated swimming pool, majestic mountains and glistening lake that await just outside the doors. It’s no wonder that the hotel was named the “Most Beautiful Hotel in Nevada” by Architectural Digest and was voted the “Number-One Resort Hotel in the U.S.” by Travel+Leisure readers in 2018, just one year after opening.

THE PROPERTY
The LEED Silver-certified lodge sits on 235 acres of prime, lakefront property alongside the historic Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Getting there is a one-hour drive south from Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Unlike the neighboring casino resorts in the south shore area, the only games on-site are those related to chess or Monopoly. The Lodge’s 154 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites are thoughtfully designed and modern, many with views of Lake Tahoe or the iconic golf course.

THE ACTIVITIES
Activities abound. Guests can summon the hotel’s Mercedes-Benz shuttle to take them to nearby Heavenly Village for shops, restaurants, ice skating and other entertainment options. During winter through early spring, Heavenly Ski Resort features the most skiiable acres in Lake Tahoe as well as an alpine roller coaster, gondola rides and snow tubing. The property also offers year-round daily yoga to start the day.
The Spa at Edgewood is a peaceful oasis that offers a full menu of personalized services in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
THE SPA
To wind down after an active day, or even after a leisurely one, the world-class Spa at Edgewood is an 8,500-square-foot escape within an escape. The Zen-like surroundings will calm the most restless mind, and the menu includes facials, massages, and salon and body treatments. The terrace hot tub is the ideal hideaway to unwind before indulging in a tension-melting massage.

THE DINING
Hotel guests never need to leave the property to get a variety of quality food across four distinctive dining options. The Coffee Bar offers fresh pastries baked in-house, and Brooks’ Bar & Deck is an upscale sports bar designed by Frank Gehry. At Bistro, chef de cuisine Thomas Hartwell has earned a reputation for creating standout dishes for every meal. Finally, the dinner-only Edgewood Restaurant sets the tone for a memorable evening with culinary excellence paired with front row views of the romantic Sierra sunset over Lake Tahoe.
