What do William Blake, the Seven Deadly Sins, Jules Verne and Agatha Christie’s murder mysteries have in common? Each was a source of inspiration for one of jewelry designer Stephen Webster’s famed collections. Since founding his eponymous luxury jewelry label in London in the late ‘80s, the British designer and self-proclaimed maximalist, has been one to watch. Among his fans are Charlize Theron, Kate Moss, Elizabeth Taylor and famously, Madonna, for whom he crafted an engagement ring before her wedding to Guy Ritchie. His collections are characterized by colorful, exotic stones like opals, beryls and peridots, rendered in fantastical, often Gothic shapes like butterflies, bugs and wings. Now Houstonians can peruse his distinct pieces at Zadok Jewelers, which, in the fall, began exclusively carrying the designer’s pieces.
