Calling all culinary enthusiasts—Indie Chefs Community (indiechefs.com) is bringing its buzzy food festival to town this summer. COMMUNE was launched in order to shine a light on the hospitality industry by prioritizing education, resources and opportunities available while also giving back to the community. Launching in August, the festival will bring over 200 chefs together who, together, encompass 20-plus Michelin stars and 40-plus James Beard finalists, and will feature scrumptious cuisine, innovative dishes and undoubtedly leave you inspired. “COMMUNE was founded for the industry, by the industry. We wanted to create a space for chefs and hospitality professionals to come together, make incredible food, champion causes they’re passionate about and support each other, the community and the industry in the process,” says Grover Smith, founder of Indie Chefs Community. “As a city that thrives on rich culture, diverse culinary offerings and exceptional people, Houston felt like the perfect city to host this.”
